Howard County Executive Ken Ulman announced that Stanley Milesky is the new Director of Howard County’s Department of Finance. Milesky previously served as Deputy Director and has been serving as Acting Director since the retirement of Sharon Greisz in June.
Before coming to Howard County Government in 2008, Milesky worked for the City of Baltimore as the Chief of Treasury Management and for the Maryland Department of Transportation where he served in a variety of senior management and finance positions.
“Not only does Stan have extensive knowledge of County finances, but he recognizes that in order to keep Howard County’s fiscal house in order we must continue to be aware of changing economic climates and focus on long-term financial planning,” said Executive Ulman.
“I am honored to have been chosen by Executive Ulman and look forward to working with him and the other members of the Howard County management team to keep Howard County as one of finest places to live and work in the nation.”
Milesky graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1969, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson State University in 1978 and in 1981 was awarded a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California.
