SCORE of Southern Maryland has announced that Julie Lenzer, director of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC), will be the keynote speaker for SCORE’s Women’s Entrepreneur Conference, to be held on Sept. 20 at Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus from 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.

The event is designed to provide the practical, as well as the inspirational, help that women entrepreneurs need.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Julie’s credentials as our keynote speaker for this event,” said Maureen Edwards, SCORE mentor and conference organizer. “As director of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, she is charged with driving programs and policies that support innovative economic development.”

Lenzer is also a member of the Maryland Economic Development Commission and was recognized as a 2014 Influential Marylander. A widely-recognized serial entrepreneur, she was named the Women Impacting Public Policy AT&T Innovator of the Year in 2011.

Participants will hear from successful women entrepreneurs, learn the factors that are key to success, and have the opportunity to network with similarly inclined women and potential business partners.
