Francis-Gibson Resigns From The Columbia Foundation
The Columbia Foundation’s president and CEO, Beverley Francis-Gibson, has resigned to pursue another professional opportunity. Until a replacement is hired, foundation chair Earl Armiger will serve as both chair of the board of trustees and as acting CEO. During the search, development officer Debbie Daskaloff is providing donor services and information.
The 2012 grant process is underway and on schedule, Armiger said. Last year, more than $625,000 was awarded to support 131 local human services, arts and cultural, educational and community services organizations and their activities, as well as to fund a dozen scholarships.
Boy Scout Council Adds Board Members
The Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, has welcomed Dwight Crone of McFarlin Insurance Agency and Stephen Martino of the Maryland Lottery Agency, from Howard County; and Ronald Andro of Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Mark Mulligan of the Federal Civil Service and Pete Walsh of Optivor Technologies, from Anne Arundel County, to the organization’s board of directors.
New Professional Staff Officers Named at HCGH
Howard County General Hospital (HCGH) has named the following new professional staff officers for 2012: Clarita Frazier, M.D., president; Nicholas Koutrelakos, M.D., vice-president; and Mary Pieprzak, M.D., secretary/treasurer. Frazier has been a member of the HCGH professional staff since 1995, Koutrelakos joined in 1989 and Pieprzak in 1996.
Horizon Foundation Appoints Officers
Shirley Collier of Optemax LLC has been reappointed chair of the board of trustees of The Horizon Foundation. John Isbister of the law firm of Tydings & Rosenberg will serve as vice chair, Lynn Coleman of Howard Community College has been named treasurer and Mary Ellen Duncan of Synergies Consulting Group was appointed treasurer.
CA Team Members Honored With ACA Awards
The American Camp Association (ACA) recognized three Columbia Association (CA) team members with service awards. They are Brittany Dunbar, camp administrator; Monica Herber, Art Camp director; and Katie Lee, Nature Camp director. Dunbar rose through the ranks at CA from a camper to administrator; Herber built Art Camp from the ground up; and Lee is the director of CA’s longest-running, largest and most popular summer camp, Nature Camp.
