The Columbia Bank Announces Personnel Moves

The Columbia Bank has announced several hires. They include the hires of Angel Connolly, Brad Rodier and Jeffery Long, Sr., all as commercial relationship managers; and Ian Riddle, vice president and relationship manager. All were previously employed at M&T Bank.

Also new at The Columbia Bank are Joe Durham, senior vice president, commercial banking manager; and Jeanne Pardoe and Sarah McMahon, both as a commercial relationship manager, vice president. All three are also veterans of the banking industry.

Crosby Announces New Hire, Promotes Duo

Denise Aube, a health care strategist; and Jeff Rosenberg, who specializes in advocacy and social marketing, have been promoted to executive vice president at Crosby Marketing Communications, Annapolis.

In addition, Meredith Williams has joined the firm as an executive vice president and co-leader of its Government Practice. She has worked on federal contracts related to public education, health care and behavior change programs.

It’s the Eagen Team at Long & Foster

Lin Eagan, Realtor, has joined the Long & Foster office in Columbia. At her new address, she will work with her son, Realtor Kevin Eagen, to form the Eagen Team, serving the residential market in the area.

Leadership Transition at CFAAC

The Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC) has announced that Executive Director Bess Langbein is resigning on June 5 to found her own consulting company.

During her tenure, CFAAC has raised more than $20 million in major and planned gifts. It also increased assets under management from $795,000 to $6 million and the number of funds from 30 to more than 80.

Stinson Joins FAI Wealth Management

Mark Stinson has joined FAI Wealth Management, Columbia, as a senior adviser. He will provide integrated retirement planning, portfolio management and legacy planning services. Stinson was previously employed by Baltimore-Washington Financial Advisors.

Howard Bank’s Wright Among ‘Maryland’s Finest’

Tyler Wright, Howard Bank vice president and relationship manager, has been named one of Maryland’s Finest by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He was named one of the Top 5 for fundraising and was showcased on the Maryland Finest Billboard, which recognizes outstanding supporters of the Maryland Chapter.

FDIC Names Howard Bank’s Scully to Advisory Committee

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) has selected Howard Bank President and CEO Mary Ann Scully for its Advisory Committee on Community Banking. In 2014, she was appointed to the Baltimore branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, the Bankers Advisory Board of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors and the Maryland Legislature’s Augustine Commission on economic development.

Lawson Named GM of Lawson’s Decorating Den Interiors

Bruce Lawson has been named general manager of Lawson’s Decorating Den Interiors, of Columbia. Lawson has nearly 30 years’ experience in sales and marketing with IBM.

Saltzman Joins CAC Board

Oren Saltzman, managing member of the law firm of Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, was elected to the board of trustees of the Community Action Council of Howard County. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business, commercial and corporate law, taxation, bankruptcy and guardianship, among others.

Neilsen to Lead WNAV’s News Department

WNAV Radio, Annapolis, has hired Finn Neilsen as news director. Neilsen’s experience includes hosting, reporting and on-scene coverage of breaking news, as well as participating in state and local election and county government meeting coverage.

Ciena Appoints Starke as CMO

Hanover-based Ciena Corp. has announced that Marcus Starke has joined the company as senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO). He most recently served as CMO at MicroStrategy, a global provider of enterprise-ready platforms for business analytics and mobile analytics.

CarneyKelehan’s Agro Named Treasurer of Association

Jacqueline Agro, paralegal with Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett & Scherr, was elected treasurer of the Maryland Association of Paralegals 2015 Board of Directors. Agro graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland University College with a major in legal studies.

Kittleman Names Sands

Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman has named the Rev. Barbara Sands to head the county’s Office of Human Rights. Sands will oversee a review of the office’s organization and the process used to handle complaint cases brought before the Human Rights Commission.

Himmel Heads to Carroll

Carroll Community Bank announced that Michael Himmel has joined its Commercial Lending Division as senior vice president, Howard County Team Leader. Prior to joining Carroll Community Bank, Himmel was a senior vice president at Signal Financial Credit Union, in Kensington.

Stroud Promoted at Bank of Glen Burnie

The Bank of Glen Burnie has promoted Roxanne Stroud to vice president of loan operations. Stroud, a 17-year veteran of the bank, oversees regulatory requirements and reporting for the bank’s loan operations department.
