Leadership Howard County (LHC) has announced its new affiliation with Loyola University Maryland in the area of leadership development. Beginning in September, Leadership Essentials — a six-month program for emerging professionals developed by LHC — will become affiliated with Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and Management.
The new association will enable Leadership Essentials, which was launched by LHC in 2007 and has served more than 100 local emerging leaders, to continue its growth as one of the premier leadership development programs for young professionals in the region. The program’s future sessions will be offered at Loyola’s Graduate Center–Columbia Campus.
Both LHC and Loyola have a rich history of developing leaders with a strong commitment to building and transforming their communities. LHC has been the premier source of developing strong community leaders and connections for 25 years. Loyola began offering graduate business programs at its Columbia campus more than 30 years ago, and the two organizations have previously worked closely with one another on community development initiatives and networking events.
With this new affiliation, Leadership Essentials will build on its core program of skill building, personal coaching and direct community service.
“Loyola’s commitment to educational excellence in Howard County and its support of and involvement with Leadership Howard County dates back more than a decade,” said Karyl Leggio, dean of the Sellinger School. “With our shared vision and dedication to developing outstanding leaders, the resources we have to offer Howard County as one of the region’s leading business schools and the location of our Columbia campus, this affiliation is an ideal opportunity for Loyola and Leadership Howard County to work together.”
