Ascend One Corp. has donated $5,000 to the National Family Resiliency Center in celebration of the Columbia-based nonprofit’s 25th anniversary.

NFRC guides and supports children during family transitions. Since its founding in 1983 as the Children of Separation & Divorce Center, the organization has helped more than 28,000 individuals and families resolve conflict, co-parent and make child-focused decisions before, during and after divorce.

“We’ve admired and supported the work of NFRC for more than 10 years,” said Ascend One Chairman and CEO Bernie Dancel. “We’re pleased to be able to mark this important milestone by becoming a Gold Sponsor of NFRC’s 25th anniversary celebration.”

Net proceeds from sponsorships and ticket purchases for NFRC’s anniversary celebration benefit the organization’s sliding fee fund, which provides low cost counseling for children and families who demonstrate financial need.

Ascend One has partnered with NFRC on a variety of projects, including seminars for Ascend One staff on family issues, creating a video of peer counselors and peer counselor training. It has also provided support for low cost individual and group therapy for families in transition.
