Audissey Introduces Speech Recognition Product
Audissey Communications, Inc. recently introduced SmoothTalk, a new speech recognition-based telephone directory system. Designed for commercial and federal customers, SmoothTalk provides a customized internal telephone directory that uses multiple, pre-recorded voice prompts to interact with the caller. In a human voice, it asks the user who s/he would like to call. With a few words, users can place calls and get directory listings, in addition to retrieving and leaving voice messages, paging and calling fellow teammates on cell phones. Answering in complete sentences, SmoothTalk recognizes and adapts to regional U.S. and non-U.S. accents. Employees can call any time, from any telephone, to get directory assistance and complete calls. A single SmoothTalk directory platform can contain from 2,500 to 30,000 names, and platforms may be linked to offer nearly unlimited capacity. The speaker-independent system uses multiple, pre-recorded voice prompts spoken in complete sentences by real people. Users will experience different sets of greetings from one call to the next to vary the responses.
