New Innovations In The Marketplace Three New Products Making A Difference

By Lynne Cogan

We are a nation of dreamers. That works well for the business world. Ideas to help in the workplace are popping up daily and cover the gamut of industries. When entrepreneurs dream, the result is a wealth of exciting new products and services that benefit every industry within the business community.

Three such new innovations are being readied for national distribution. These high tech products include: DigiBuildIt, Cabinet Jack and Salud Financiera.

Web Site Design For Non-designers

Digibelly, Inc., founded by Eric Delisle, is not a household name yet; however, it may become one when its new product, DigiBuildIt, reaches the marketplace later this summer.

Living up to DigiBelly's vision of bringing easy and affordable high tech web solutions to the ordinary businessperson, DigiBuildIt enables even those with little or no technical skills to create a $50,000 web site for only a few hundred dollars. Additionally, a real, live rep will be assigned to walk the uninitiated through the process.

The DigiBuildIt software package is divided into several components.

- SiteBuilder allows one to select from hundreds of professionally designed templates in order to create an attractive web site in minutes. Edits are easy with the drag-and-drop editor.

- StoreBuilder adds instant e-commerce and shopping cart functionality to your site that manages products, customers and online sales; calculates sales tax and shipping; accepts PayPal, e-checks and credit cards; and integrates and imports/exports from QuickBooks.

- TrafficBuilder increases visitor traffic by promoting a web site to search engines and listing companies in Yellow Page directories.

Additional features include: E-mail Account Manager, E-Mail a Friend Feature, Shipping Options, Inventory Management, Real-Time Sales Manager and Vendor Manager.

A Verizon Communications survey in USA Today on December 31, 2002, stated that 70% of all U.S. businesses were still without a web site. This number may change with DigiBuildIt. For more information about DigiBuildIt, go to www.Digibelly.com and www.DigiBuildIt.com.

Cabinetry Made Easy

Have you ever looked at a new invention that was so simple and so practical, like the paperclip or the twist tie, and wondered why no one had thought of it before?

Such a product is slated to go on the market for the $12-billion-a-year cabinet industry in 2004.

Installing upper cabinets has always required a minimum of two people and has been very time-consuming. Thanks to Scott Gregory, founder of Gregory Enterprises, Cabinet Jack turns upper cabinet installation into a one-person job. Work that used to take eight hours can now be accomplished in half the time.

Cabinet Jack is a set of cylindrical jacks that telescope from 15 inches to 110 inches. It holds a cabinet in place while it is being hung. A unique laser leveling device guarantees hanging accuracy and a supporting plate can tilt to accommodate various heights, angles and conditions.

When not in use, the Cabinet Jack stores in a hard, protective carrying case that fits on the passenger seat of the average car.

Starting early next year, the 45,000 cabinet shops throughout the United States will have an opportunity to purchase the Cabinet Jack. This simple tool is expected to save the average shop approximately $35,000 a year.

The $140-billion-plus do-it-yourself home improvement industry will be next. A few special features will be added, such as a drywall hanging attachment and a cordless drill.

Of course, Cabinet Jack will be of great value to cabinetmakers everywhere. Key connections have already been made throughout Canada. The rest of the world will follow over the next few years. For more information about Cabinet Jack, go to http://cabinetjack.enewspro.com.

Household and Family Finances Simplified

Salud Financiera/Solid Finances, a division of Dominguez & Associates, is an educational company committed to empowering those living in poverty in the United States by providing them with the best tools for attaining financial health.

Salud Financiera's numerous products focus on household/family finances such as establishing and keeping good credit, buying a home and earning money from home.

The product most likely to gain immediate popularity in the Maryland business community is the Card—an ATM/Money Transfer/Calling/Debit Card, which is part of the MasterCard system and for which everyone is eligible. Every time the card is used, the reseller receives a small override. Depending upon the number of cards sold and the number of transactions per card, this could add up to thousands of dollars of residual income per month.

While businesses make money from the card, consumers save money. For example, Salud Financiera's initial market is the rapidly growing Latino population, which now totals 37 million in the United States. Only 50% of Latinos living in the United States have bank accounts. Latinos without bank accounts pay heavy fees to cash their salary checks. The card has the option of direct deposit.

A majority of Latinos send money to their families back home. The established methods for sending money to foreign countries, such as Western Union, are quite expensive. The card allows for the simple transfer of funds between two accounts for a nominal fee.

As a result, Latinos have more money to spend in the community and with those who sold them the card. With a cumulative buying power of half a trillion dollars a year, this could be a boost to any community's economy.

According to founder Walter Dominguez, the national program recently opened and Salud Financiera is actively seeking distribution channels throughout the United States, both in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.
