From The Desk Of CA President Maggie Brown

Summer is here, and we're all enjoying the return of CA's Downtown Lunch Series. This year, the series will run all summer until August 29. The musical entertainment is offered every Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Lake Kittamaqundi.

The Downtown Lunch Series is an initiative to bring local businessmen and women together at the lakefront for a lunchtime, community social gathering. Participants may enjoy an outdoor lunch at one of the lakefront restaurants while watching free performances and receiving giveaways and coupon incentives from participating area merchants.

CA welcomes any and all of the more than 2,000 employees who work within walking distance of the lakefront as well as some 12,000 more employees who work along Little Patuxent Parkway. We would love to see even more representation from the thousands of other employees who work at Columbia businesses. Scheduled to appear this year are local recording artists Black Market, Il Culo, the Baltimore Islanders Steel Band, Unified Jazz Ensemble, Baltimore Brass and several other popular groups.
