Finalists Announced for BBB of Greater Maryland's 2009 Torch Awards

The Better Business Bureau (BBB)|Greater Maryland will honor area businesses with its annual Torch Awards for Marketplace Excellence at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore's Mansion House on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
After receiving more than 60 nominations, a panel of judges composed of representatives from previously honored firms selected 13 finalists. Winners will be announced at the ceremony.
"It is with great satisfaction that we recognize these businesses, which include small and large employers, multi-generation family-owned and woman/minority-owned, for their efforts not just to meet expectations for fairness and honesty, but to exceed them," said Angie Barnett, president/CEO, BBB|Greater Maryland. "Each of these companies traded short-term sacrifices for long-term relationships and lasting reputations."
Among the finalists in this year's competition are:

- Improvement Zone, Annapolis
- Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing of Maryland, Columbia
- Next Day Blinds, Jessup
- Sit, Stay & Play, Severn
- Turf Valley Resort, Ellicott City
