Community Foundation Announces
New Board, Officers
The Community Foundation has announced its new board and officers for 2010. They are Dave Cyphers, president of The Cyphers Agency, who starts his second year as board chair; Martha Blaxall, economist, The George Washington University; and Karen Whaley, owner of Whaley & Associates, who remain as vice chairs; Harley Flack, CEO of FlackVentures, treasurer; and Carroll Hynson, president of Carroll Hynson & Son/Image Power, secretary.
New board members include Dick Franyo, owner, Boatyard Bar & Grill; Greg St. Cyr, senior pastor, Bay Area Community Church; Veronica Tovey, publisher, What's Up Magazine; Enrique Melendez, national practice leader for information systems at Jacobs Engineering Group; and Jean Moreau, president, Jean Moreau & Associates.

Hanover-based High's of Baltimore has announced the promotions of four executives who have 75 years combined experience working for the company: Pat Kelly has been promoted to co-director of sales and marketing, Benjamin Jatlow is the new director of business development, Kevin Greene has been selected as retail operations manager and Carla Lee has been named district manager.

MedStar Names Johnson
Senior VP, General Counsel
MedStar Health has appointed Oliver Johnson, II, as senior vice president and general counsel. He will serve as chief legal officer to a nearly $4 billion multi-jurisdictional health system, which is composed of nine hospitals and more than 40 corporate entities across the Baltimore-Washington region.

Virginia Thomas has been elected president of the Vantage House Corporate Board. She has served on the entity since 1996. She is retired from UMBC, where she was director of community health, and also served 12 years as a state legislator in the Maryland General Assembly
