New Members Join Board for The Arc
Five members have joined the board of The Arc of Howard County: Peter Della Croce of Merrill Lynch, Robert Smith of BB&T, Christa Spalding of Howard Bank, Phillip Swanson of Canada Dry Potomac and Edward Wilson of Constellation Energy.

LMD Adds Three
Laurel-based LMD has added two account/project managers, Mary Ellen McCormack and Bilaal Ahmed, and a designer, Nicholas Takemoto. McCormack held account executive positions at Baltimore advertising firms, Ahmed comes to LMD with experience in both management and product development, and Takemoto brings extensive design experience to the agency.

BG&R Announces New Staff
Berman, Goldman & Ribakow (BGR), an Ellicott City-based accounting firm, has added Paul Turner and Kate Drachova as staff accountants, and Alexandria Thaxton as marketing coordinator.

Two NGC Employees Honored by SHPE
Two Northrop Grumman Corp. (NGC) engineers were recently honored by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). Yamaris Soto received the Technical Achievement Recognition (STAR) award and Mairim Ramos-Lebron was presented with a STAR award as a Promising Engineer.

Keough Cited by GWBT
Mike Keough, president of Elkridge-based E-Structors, has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater Washington Board of Trade (GWBT). Keough was recognized for being a pioneer in the electronics recycling industry.

Leopold Appoints Boschert to Chair of Veteran Affairs Commission
Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold named former State Delegate David Boschert chairman of the County Veterans' Affairs Commission. Boschert, a member of the commission, is a retired Marine and a former colleague of Leopold's in the House of Delegates.

NGC Names Sullivan VP
Northrop Grumman Corp. (NGC) has named Paul Sullivan vice president of operations for its Naval and Marine Systems Division at the company's Electronic Systems sector in Linthicum. He will have executive responsibility for all phases of the division's Department of Defense and Homeland Security programs.

Cook to Lead AACC Legal Studies Institute
Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) has named Karen Cook as acting director of the new Legal Studies Institute. A past president of the Anne Arundel Bar Association, Cook oversees seven full-time and 30 part-time faculty members, manages the institute and the Legal Studies Internship Program.

Weiss Steps Down as Fortress Chairman, Will Assumes New Role
Columbia-based Fortress International Group has announced that Harvey Weiss requested to step down as board chair and has been named the board's vice chair. Board member and Audit Committee Chairman John Morton III resigned as chairman of the committee to replace Weiss. Bill Jews was elected to serve as the new committee chair.

JFHC Names Adler
The Jewish Federation of Howard County (JFHC) has appointed Deborah Adler as executive director. Adler held the position of campaign chair for the nonprofit from 2004 to 2006 and has been on the federation's executive board for the past five years.
